Our history
Family business and purveyor to the royal household
1914
Dick and Martha te Kolsté opened Hotel Central in Roosendaal on 14 June 1914. It is said that stones from the old Rosendaal railway station were (re)used for this purpose.
1935
Dick te Kolsté died. Vic and Jet van Baal took over the hotel.
1960
Mr and Mrs van Baal transferred the running of the hotel to A.H. Muller in September 1960 . The hotel remained the property of Vic and Jet van Baal.
1962
Joke Rademakers-Nollen took over as manager of the hotel.
1967
Jan and Corrie Sistermans started running the hotel. When Vic van Baal died, the Sistermanses bought the premises.
1970
After extensive renovations, the hotel reopened.
1992
Daughter Truce and her husband Jos joined the restaurant.
1994
Jos and Truce Oskam took over Hotel Central from their parents (in law).
2014
Hotel Central celebrated its centenary and the owners received the designation ‘purveyor to the royal household’. This shield still hangs on the façade.
2019
On 1 January 2019, Jody Mekes and Rob de Weerd took over the hotel-restaurant. In September 2020, they also become the owners of Hotel Goderie in Roosendaal. This business then continued in 2021 with a new name and concept: The Rosendale.

Team
Together with their team of enthusiastic and dedicated hospitality professionals, Jody Mekes and Rob de Weerd are ready to serve their guests every day. Service and hospitality are their motto:
“We make sure that our hotel guests feel at home during their stay. Our hotel guests appreciate this, because many of them return many times.”
In Restaurant Sistermans, guests experience an evening out. That means: enjoying delicious dishes and paired wines. In addition, the staff always goes the extra mile. That’s why they help guests out of their jacket, hang it up for them and pull up a chair. That makes ‘Sis’ an elegant and classic restaurant. Whether you are a frequent guest, or you are saving up to come and enjoy an evening in our restaurant, our motto applies to everyone: Every moment, every dish, every glass should be a moment of warm welcome and enjoyment!
